Black Dyke record breaking Euro win

Black Dyke Band was declared European Champion in Rotterdam on Saturday 5th May 2012 after their performances of Vita Aeterna Variations by Alexander Comitas and their own choice test piece Revelations by Philip Wilby. Despite an early number 2 draw on Saturday, the band managed a four point victory overall. The band last won the title in 2005 and this is an unequalled twelfth time the band has held this title in the thirty five year history of the contest.

The band wishes to place on record their sincere gratitude for the financial support they received from the Bradford City Council’s Department of Culture and Regeneration.

The band will defend it’s English National title at Preston on June 25th 2012
