After 4 years, Alex Kerwin has reluctantly resigned from the Black Dyke Band due to family commitments. Alex commented ‘It is with great regret that I have to leave. The band are and always will be my greatest friends and I thank Dr Childs for his guidance, support and friendship. I wish the band all the warmest of wishes.’
Nicholas Childs said “Alex is very special person, she has always put the band first, a terrific player and she is the current Black Dyke Bandsperson of the Year. However I understand why she now needs to spend more time with her two lovely children Cecilia and Aaron. We wish her all the very best”.
Alex’s final engagement will be at the York Barbican on 10th March
