Evans to receive Masters Award

Philip Biggs and Richard Franklin are delighted to announce that the celebrated Conductor, Richard
Evans will receive this year’s Masters Dedicated Service Award, which will be presented to him at
the conclusion of the All England Masters International Championship which takes place at the
Corn Exchange, Cambridge on Sunday 24th May.

Richard has worked at the very highest levels of brass bands and was recently described by Alan
Morrison as one of the true greats of British brass banding and an institution of which we can all be
very proud.

Philip Biggs commented: “Richard has been selected for this prestigious award because of his total
dedication and inspirational service as a player, conductor and musician. Also, his motivational
abilities are second to none - he is a role model.”

The presentation will be made to Richard directly before the announcement of results at the All
England Masters International Championship in Cambridge on Sunday 24th May.
