Webster stars with Whitburn

Roger Webster is set to star with Whitburn at the forthcoming European Championships.

The ex-Black Dyke and Grimethorpe superstar has signed for the Scottish band and will perform with it in Oostende.

The news comes as Whitburn announce an open rehearsal for the contest, to be held at the Regal Theatre in Bathgate on Tuesday, April 28, at 7.30pm. At the rehearsal, the band will perform both the set-work  - From Ancient Times by Jan van der Roost - and Whitburn's own choice test piece for the European. Whitburn will be conducted by Russell Gray, who led the band to victory at the 2008 Scottish Championships. Alex Vidler, Whitburn Band President, commented: "We are obviously delighted that Roger has agreed to play with us and we look forward to performing with him in Oostende."
