Heavy Metals for Hospitals

The stirring sounds of the HEAVY METAL TUBA & PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE have been described as a unique quartet of musicians playing a wide range from Charlie Parker to Grieg.  

 

They will be appearing  will be appearing in a concert called Spring into Music at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden on Wednesday, May 6th at 7.30pm together with distinguished English soprano, Dame Felicity Lott and Scottish singer Isla St Clair.

 

 

The concert, which is an assortment of classics, jazz and popular music, is in aid of the charity Music in Hospitals and will also feature professional musicians who regularly perform concerts for patients in care homes, hospitals, hospices and special needs schools all over the country.   All proceeds from the concert will benefit the charity.

 

All four members of HEAVY METAL studied at the Royal College of Music and, as well as giving interactive concerts throughout the UK, they freelance with soloists and orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Welsh National Opera.
