Massed bands for charity

A charity concert featuring the Vernon Building Society Poynton Brass Band and Macclesfield Youth Brass Band will take place at St Michaels Church, The Marketplace, Macclesfield on Saturday 23rd February 2008.

The event, organised with the help of Macclesfield Castle Rotary Club, will be an entertaining celebration of brass with a varied light concert programme for all the family to enjoy. Tickets cost just £6 for adults and accompanied children go free.  The concert starts at 7pm and all proceeds go to The Rotary Club’s nominated charities and Jessie’s Fund, a charity which provides music therapy to seriously ill and disabled children, which is the Macclesfield Youth Band’s adopted charity this year.

The prize-winning Vernon Building Society Band will be led by its long standing musical director Alan Lawton, MBE whilst Macclesfield Youth Brass Band will be under the direction of former Poynton Band member, Louise Renshaw.

Tickets will be available on the door.
