Cornwall open to all

The Cornwall Brass Band Association is opening its doors to the rest of the country.

For the first time in its history the Cornwall Brass Band  Association is to make its Annual Contest open to any band in the country.   In conjunction with this decision members have agreed to adopt National Grading from January 2008.  However, to help those bands who choose not to attend the Area Contest, but who like to attend contests, the CBBA is running a section especially for un-graded bands.

The contest for 2008 will be on Saturday 5th April in the Truro Methodist Church, with sections for graded and ungraded bands, youth and training bands, all own choice test pieces, and an entertainment section open to any band.

“Why not use our Contest as an excuse to come to Cornwall for a Band Week-end Break?  We would love to see you all.”

For full schedule and entry form please contact the Secretary, Fran Calver on 01208 851235 or email frances.calver@tiscali.co.uk
