Stanshawe reunion |
|
27 October 2007 saw the re-union dinner of the Sun Life Stanshawe Band; the first following its disbandment over 10 years ago. More than 130 ex-players, conductors, and their guests were hosted by the Trustees of the band in a lavish evening in north Bristol. Many old friendships were renewed including some founder members from the band’s inception in the summer of 1968. Special guests included Geoffrey Brand, Roy Newsome, and Frank Berry (former Sun Life executive) who all gave eloquent after-dinner speeches. The evening also witnessed presentations to Martyn Coward and Brian Higgins without whose contributions the band would certainly have not existed. The Trustees (Dave Alderman, Ian Dickinson, Nick Williams, and Roy Jennings) would like to thank everyone for being there. For those few that could not make it to the re-union we can only say you were sadly missed. |
