Louise is a Loca Hero |

Louise Renshaw, musical director of Macclesfield Youth Brass Band, was named Teacher of the Year in radio station Silk FM’s Local Hero awards last week. The awards ceremony took place at Cheshire’s Shrigley Hall where local dignatories, sponsors and guests celebrated the efforts of Local Heroes - people who make an outstanding contribution to their community.
The award was made in recognition of Louise’s commitment to the development of young players and the value of her work, performed voluntarily, with all sections of the band, now just two years old.
After acknowledging the contribution of MYBB’s team of trustees towards her success, Louise told Silk FM’s compère that the band would shortly be releasing its first CD. “How about playing it on your station?” she suggested. “I’m sure your listeners would enjoy brass band music.” |
