New Brass Band Aind recording

Some of the biggest stars in the brass band world and beyond have combined to record the latest Brass Band Aid CD, featuring Karl Jenkins' masterpiece 'The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace', arranged for brass band, choir and organ by Andrew Wainwright & Duncan Gibbs.

The work, which is the only piece by a living composer to feature in the 'Classic FM Hall of Fame' Top 10, was premiered in 2005 and since then a number of performances have taken place.

For the recording, the Brass Band Aid Celebrity Band feature alongside the BBA Festival Chorus and four guest vocal soloists, including Nicky Spence, who recently performed at the Classical Brit Awards and has just signed a huge contract with Universal. The International Staff Songsters, The Salvation Army's premiere choral group, will also be recording a special track for the CD. With large contingents from Black Dyke and Cory, the BBA Celebrity Band reads as a who's who of talent, and includes the likes of Peter Roberts, David Daws, Alexandra Kerwin, Morvern Gilchrist, Chris Turner, Joanne Childs, Owen Farr, Lesley Howie, Arfon Owen, Katrina Marzella, Nick Hudson, Chris Thomas, Adrian Hirst, Bob & David Childs,
Simon Kerwin, Matthew Routley, Danny Sinclair, Dave Danford and more!

Unfortunately the release of the CD has been delayed slightly due to technical problems, but it is hoped it will be released in early December.

Another Brass Band Aid recording is also in the pipeline and features the talents of Ian Porthouse, Steve Sykes and Nick Hudson so look out for that too!

Both recordings are just £10 with all proceeds going to charity.
