Pontins 2007 confirm date

After examining the questionnaire issued after the 2006 festival inviting suggestions for the most suitable dates to hold the Festival, the Pontin’s Brass Band Committee have decided to stage the 2007  Youth Contest over the weekend  Friday 6th July to Monday 9th July.

The questionnaire result was inconclusive from more than half of those issued. Therefore, taking into account possible clashes with other major events held on, or close to the most popular dates, the Committee agreed that the early July dates would be the best possible. This also happens to suit the very busy Pontin’s Prestatyn operational calendar, which is a major factor for the organisation of such events.

Once again, the prestigious British Open Youth Section Brass Band titles will be on offer with the kind permission of  Karyn and Martin Mortimer to whom Pontin’s are very grateful.

The format of the competition is a 25 minute programme to include a set test piece, a March of own choice, any arranged Hymn Tune and pieces of  own choice to make up the time limit.

Pontin’s are delighted to invite all youth bands to enter the Third Youth Brass Band Festival which will take place at Prestatyn Sands Holiday Centre. The Festival is intended to be both a competitive and enjoyable event for all who attend, with over £4,000 in cash prizes, trophies, allowances, and the usual Pontin’s entertainment and leisure facilities for all the family throughout the weekend.

Contest schedules will be available shortly

For further information please contact either of the Festival Contest Controllers.
