British Airways Brass Band have recently completed a successful 8 day tour of Southern California. The tour, hosted by members of the Inland Valley Council of Churches (IVCC), included a schedule of 4 concerts raising money and awareness for the IVCC's food-aid and shelter programmes and other participating local charities in Ontario, Redlands, and Pomona.

In total over 2000 people attended the concert series enjoying varied music such as solos on Xylophone and Euphonium, American classic Shenandoah and, to the amazement of the American audience, Post Horn Galop, played on an original English post horn by Paul Douglas, Principal Cornet of the British Airways Band.

Band member were hosted by families and entertained between performances with sight-seeing trips such as the spectacular Arrowhead Lake and dining on the Queen Mary at Long Beach. The tour ended with the Band performing at California's Disneyland.

The British Airways Band would like to thank Ian Richardson, his Wife Sarah, and all the hosting families and organisations for a truly memorable tour.

Ian Richardson, Past President Inland Valley Council of Churches and organiser of the tour said "The host families and other helpers here in California formed special relationships with the British Airways Band members and truly enjoyed the visit. The band members were outstanding representatives of British Airways."
