The United Co-op Yorkshire Brass Band has
been crowned North Wales Champions after a winning performance under the
direction of musical director William Rushworth at the North Wales
Championships held in Rhyl Town Hall on Saturday 18 November.
The band was placed first overall by
adjudicator Roy Sparkes after a solid performance of Philip Sparke’s
test-piece Year of the Dragon and also won the prize for the best march
for its performance of Knight Templar and principal cornet player Tabby
Clegg was awarded the prize for Best Soloist.
