Cathedral Brass

Cathedral Brass featuring Black Dyke, newly-crowned British Open Champions visit their county capital of York on October 14th at 7.30pm.

Director of music Nicholas Childs said 'We always enjoy playing in cathedrals, but York Minster is extra special. The acoustic is amazing, and the atmosphere spectacular. We have chosen a programme appropriate to this unique Cathedral including Gregson's 'Laudate  Dominum' and Ray Farr's 'Eine Feste Burg' to open the concert, Richard Marshall plays 'Softly Awakes My Heart', and we will end with Howard Snell's evergreen arrangement of Wagner's 'Procession to the Minster'.

In addition, we will feature some of Black Dykes star soloists including David Thornton and Brett Baker. After the great success of 'Vienna Nights' at the British Open, Philip Wilby will introduce and
give a short synopsis before Dyke give the Yorkshire premiere performance of this great score.
