The National Youth Brass Band of Great
Britain, which draws some of the finest young musicians from around the
country, will perform at Bromsgrove and Stoke on Friday 4th and Saturday
5th August respectively. These concerts are the culmination of the
NYBBGB 2006 Summer Course which has taken place at Bromsgrove School in
Worcestershire.
The Guest Conductor for the course and
concerts is Dr Robert Childs, Principal Conductor of Buy As You View
Band and one of the most famous former members of the NYBBGB, having
been a past Principal Euphonium with the band, Robert has also been a
Council member and senior member of the music staff for many years.
David Childs is the Guest Soloist, David is also a former Principal
Euphonium with the band and his pioneering work as a euphonium virtuoso
soloist has taken all over the world and to the pinnacle of his
profession. The NYBBGB are delighted that both Robert and David have
accepted Bramwell Tovey’s invitations to guest with the NYBBGB this
summer.

The two end of course concerts will take
place at The Artrix Centre, Bromsgrove on Friday 4th August and Victoria
Hall, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday 5th August. Both concerts start
