The Clarence Adoo Brass Band is getting
together for the fourth time to give a concert to raise funds for the
Clarence Adoo Trust.
The concert is being given at The Salvation Army, Palmerstone Road,
Boscombe, Bournemouth, BH1 4HP on Saturday 24th June at 7pm and is being
hosted by Boscombe Salvation Army Young People's Corps.
Once again, maestro Bramwell Tovey is making a trip to the UK especially
to conduct the concert. Mr Tovey is a world-renowned classical music
conductor currently holding positions with orchestras in Vancouver and
Luxembourg as well as appearing regularly with the New York Philharmonic
Orchestra. The Principal Cornet player will be Stephen Wilkinson,
currently Principal Cornet of The Fairey Band who will be playing the
cornet solo Jubilance.
The band is made up of a variety of brass players who have worked and
played alongside Clarence over the years. Professional players will
include Patrick Harrild (tuba), Jonathan Bareham (horn), Derek Bishop
(bass trombone) and Chris Deacon (soprano cornet). Salvationist players
will include current ISB members (Alan Losh, Iain Parkhouse, Howard
Bowes, Stephen Moulton and Carl Woodman) and former ISB members (Graham
Lawrence, Trevor Caffull and Stephen Yalden). Other personnel include
Paul Woodward (co-Principal Trombone, Black Dyke Band), Phil Randell
(former champion tenor horn soloist of Great Britain) and John Starkes
who will be performing the euphonium solo The Better World.
