
Black Dyke announce
newly crowned Radio Two Brass musician of the Year will be performing
Rodney Newton’s Capriccio.
Nicholas Childs
commented “Ben has made a tremendous impact since his winning
performance at the RNCM in the finals of Radio Two Brass Musician of the
Year”.
Ben’s performance
will form part of his prize awarded by the BBC and indeed Radio Two will
also be present recording live to put highlights out on the Listen to
the Band programme.
Ben Thomson agreed
“Playing with Black Dyke is a great honour, they are a terrific band and
I am looking forward with excitement to the night”.
Black Dyke’s own
soloists will also be performing, Richard Marshall - Virtuosity, Brett
Baker - Thoughts of Love and John Doyle, performing for the first time
the Oscar nominated That’ll Do from the motion picture ‘Babe’ Pig in the
City.
