The All England Masters International
Brass Band Championship and Gala Concert will see a new presenter
this year. Nicole Wilson, a first violin with the London Symphony
Orchestra and BBC Television Presenter, will step into the spotlight
at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on Sunday 28th May. Organisers Philip
Biggs and Richard Franklin are thrilled that Nicole has accepted
their invitation.
Taught the violin by her father, Nicole
began her musical career at the age of five. After much cajoling by
her parents to "go and do your practice!", she became a scholar at
Chetham's School of Music and graduated from the Royal Academy of
Music in 1996. She joined the first violin section of the London
Symphony Orchestra in 1999 and became a founder member of the
Tippett String Quartet. Nicole has worked with many major London
orchestras and has appeared extensively as a soloist in London and
Birmingham.
Having presented various concerts in
London, Nicole wrote and presented the "Classic FM Guide to the
Orchestra" for Classic FM radio in 2004 and is a presenter for BBC4
television, appearing in last year's BBC Proms and the BBC "Get
Carter" festival.
Nicole said that she is thrilled to be
invited to present this year's All Master's International Brass Band
