Pontins 2006 date move |
|
Following the Pontin’s Brass Bands Committee Meeting of 13th September 2005, Pontin’s would like to inform the Brass Bands movement of the change of date for the 2006 Contest at Prestatyn Sands. The traditional dates were planned for 27th to 30th October 2006, however, this has now had to be abandoned and the new dates will be 3rd to 6th November 2006.
Mr Jason Brindle (Committee Chairman) said “regrettably we have had to change the dates for our 2006 Contest which had traditionally recurred at the same weekend over the last thirty years, as a result of Kapitol Promotions moving the National Championships to the same dates. We felt that it is important to ensure such prestigious events do not clash and cause a split in the movement in general and have therefore decided to move our 2006 Contest dates by one week forward , i.e. to the 3rd of November.
We hope that doing this will minimise any inconvenience to those many bands and supporters who make the annual pilgrimage to both events”.
Mr Brindle went on further to say Mr B S Touhladjiev (Committee Secretary) will be contacting Kapitol Promotions to ensure that in 2007 some mutual rapport can be established, to ensure that band persons and supporters needs are taken into account. |
