The world-famous Black Dyke Band has been
busy celebrating its 150th Anniversary during 2005.
One of the highlights of the year included
a Gala Concert (sponsored by Breville) at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall,
with all proceeds going to The Kirsty Appeal in support of Francis House
Children’s Hospice. Special Guest Presenter William Roache hosted the
evening which was a great success, with a fantastic total of £34,324.60
raised for this worthy cause.
Proudly
presenting the cheque here to Kirsty is Nicholas Childs, Director of
Music, together with Band members Alison Childs, Tom Hutchinson and
Arfon Owen.
Kirsty’s Appeal has now reached over
£4million towards her goal of £5m to secure the future of Francis House
Children’s Hospice. More information can be found on
