Player changes at Grimethorpe

Grimethorpe Colliery (UK Coal) Band announce the following changes of personnel to their line up:

David Morton, 22, who originates from Durham, has joined the cornet section having served Sellers Engineering Band for the past 4 years.

David comments, “ I am so lucky to be joining my all time favourite band whom I have admired since childhood. I can’t wait to go on the Albert Hall stage wearing the famous Pink shirt of Grimethorpe. I am still young and where better for anyone to learn by being amongst these amazing players”

Will Martin, 23, hails from Bexhill on Sea, Sussex.

Will comes to Grimethorpe following 2 years at the YBS Band and joins the percussion team. Will comments, “ I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with Alan Withington and be a part of such a famous and busy band, who are performing at an enormously high standard”.

Will replaces long serving Percussionist David Hartland who after some 15 years service to the band has had to step down because of his growing work commitments.

Grimethorpe wishes to thank David Hartland for his time with them and also wishes both new members a long and happy tenure with the band.
