Timperley bring in the talent

The Timperley Band based near Altrincham, south of Manchester is delighted to announce that it has escaped extinction due to an influx of championship section standard players who live in the area.

A group of friends approached the bands Chairman and Bb Bass player, Tony Kennedy to see if the band could be saved. Initial singings include Mark Evans and Tim Dines formerly of Faireys on Eb Bass and Euphonium, Matthew and Kim King (cornet and horn) from Dobcross and Gary Winson (Bass Trombone) formerly Wingates.

Interest has escalated very quickly and the new band is delighted to announce that former YBS and Leyland Principal Cornet ace Leon Renilson has joined the band in the same role and has also accepted the position of resident conductor. Steven Booth, the gifted former Black Dyke Baritone soloist has also joined the ranks. Other high profile players are also expressing serious interest.

In addition to these signings the band has secured a new superb rehearsal facility at Broomwood Primary School, Timperley which has easy access to the motorways and other transport links. Timperley Band has been formed with the clear focus to get back to basics and enjoy music making to a high standard coupled with a professional support structure.
