Further to the press release issued before the European Championships “Gavin Plays For Wales’ Gavin Saynor has officially joined the Buy As You View Band.

 

Gavin said, ‘I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the Buy As You View Band when we competed at the European Championships this year and seeing as though my studies have taken me to Cardiff for a year, it’s the natural move for me to join BAYV’. He added, ‘I’m also looking forward to playing in the same section as John Prosser who has been an inspirational tubist with BAYV for almost 20 years’!

Bob Childs said, ‘I am looking forward to working with Gavin, he is joining a great team of soloists and I’m sure he will enjoy and broaden his horizons during his time with the band’.

 

Although Gavin has already played with BAYV at the European Championships and the All England Masters he will make his official debut with the band at this year’s British Open Championships.

 

On his departure from YBS, Gavin paid tribute to the great performances he was involved in and gave a special thanks to Professor David King for his help and guidance.

 

Gavin embarks on a PGCE course at the University of Wales, Cardiff in September and will qualify as a music teacher in July 2006.
