Charity Brass & Voices Concert

On Saturday September 17th 2005 a concert has been arranged in aid of Leukaemia Research &  Wirksworth Care Centre Project to take place at Highfields Upper School Hall, Chesterfield Road Matlock at 7.15 p.m.

Taking part are The Thoresby Colliery Band who play in the Midland Championship Section M.D. Martin Heartfield and The Colne Valley Male Voice Choir from Huddersfield West Yorkshire who in recent years were crowned both British and World Champions at Llangollen International Eisteddfod Musical Director is Thom Meredith M.A. Music (Oxon) who is Principle of Kirklees School Of Music and conducts Kirklees Youth Orchestra Accompanist is well known pianist Keith Swallow A.R.M.C.M F.R.M.C.M who has played for many well known Opera Singers and, in his own right as a solo Pianist, with world class orchestras having made many recordings.

The concert is organised by The Flint family in Association with Derwent Valley Lions Clubs (Matlock & District Branches) with full support of Leukaemia Research & Wirksworth Care Centre for Elderly People a Charitable Trust who are in the process of having  nursing care apartments built at Wirksworth in the premises once the Cottage Hospital.
