MUSE 2006

THE most exciting and innovative new Music Festival of recent years is set to take place in one of the most cosmopolitan countries in the world, Singapore, in April 2006.

Music for Everyone 2006 (MUSE) is a pioneering and unique opportunity for youth concert and brass bands from all over the world to meet up and experience the delights of Singapore and participate in the MUSE Festival which will take place from 13 – 19 April 2006.

The event is being organised by destination management company Orient Explorer, and is supported by Empress Place Attractions Association and the Singapore Band Director’s Association.

Participating ensembles will perform in concerts, workshops and fringe events across Singapore, compete against each other in a day of competition and get the opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of one of the world’s most beautiful and bustling countries.

MUSE is also a platform and opportunity for young performers and band directors to mingle, interact and share cross-cultural experiences with friends from around the world and already there has been great interest from bands in Singapore, England, Australia and New Zealand. The competition judges will also be drawn from around the world.

The Festival is aimed at concert and brass bands with an age range of 12 to 18 years-old and the Festival organisers are taking every available action to make the Festival as accessible, both musically and financially, to all youth bands across the globe.

With the first Festival still very much in the preparation stages, the organisers are still keen to hear from as many bands as possible who may be interested in taking part as they hope to make the first event a dazzling showcase of youth talent from around the globe and consolidate MUSE’s status as one of the world’s finest.

If any bands are interested in finding out more about taking part in MUSE 2006 then e-mail mail@orient-explorer.com.

Any bands interested will be asked to take part in a submission procedure which will include submitting an unedited performance piece on CD and completing an application form.
