As the climax to their Golden Jubilee Celebrations The Cornwall Youth Brass Band is holding a Grand Reunion on Saturday 10th September 2005, to which all past and present Members and Supporters are invited.
This will be held at The Camborne Town Band Band Room at Tuckingmill Pavilion, Tuckingmill, Camborne, Cornwall starting at 5pm. During the evening refreshments will be served and there will be a display of Photographs, Programmes and Memorabilia. Those attending are encouraged to bring along any Souvenirs they may have of their own days in the Band.
Of the thousands of young players that have enjoyed membership of the Band many have gone on to musical careers in the forces, as teachers and conductors locally and as players in such Orchestras as The BBC Philharmonic and The Philharmonia.
An even larger number have continued playing as a fulfilling hobby in local and national Brass Bands. There are very few Brass Bands in Cornwall that do not have former members of The Cornwall Youth Brass Band as either conductors or players.
The Band has recently announced details of its new season of monthly rehearsals and residential courses. All details of these and the Reunion can be found on The Cornwall Youth Brass Band Web Site at, www.cybb.co.uk .
