On Monday 17th January for one night only, the North West will empty the West End of their most accomplished jazz musicians, to raise money for these two superb causes!

The Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM)’s Theatre will play host to a glittering array of freelance names from the London and Manchester jazz scenes, in a fantastic ‘All-Star Big Band’.

Players from the bands of Jools Holland, Michael Brecker, John Dankworth, Barry Manilow, Michael Parkinson, Andy Prior and the BBC Big Band will join band members from the hit West End shows ‘The Ratpack, ‘Chicago’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Saturday Night Fever’. The drummer has just featured in the Kevin Spacey film ‘Deep Blue Sea’ and comes straight from the USA, where he’s been giving drum lessons to Mr. Spacey himself.

Alongside will be Manchester’s finest, The Hallé Brass, flying the flag on behalf of the North!

Rising stars from both Cheetham’s School of Music and the RNCM will also be contributing to an evening that promises to be a real treat for all fans of the Big Band and Brass sounds!

Friends and colleagues of acclaimed Manchester Trombonist Carol Jarvis have offered their services in order to raise money both for Carol and the charity CancerBacup, who have offered Carol invaluable help and advice since her diagnosis with Lymphoma.

Tickets for the concert which starts at 7.30pm, are available from the RNCM Box Office on 0161 907 5555 and are priced at £10.00/£6.00 Concessions.
