Lucian Russell-Price (15) from Draycott,
was recently one of the award winners of a BBC Fame Academy Bursary. He
was chosen out of thousands of entries across the UK to buy a flügelhorn.
He is a specialist musician at Wells Cathedral School.
The official charity from Fame Academy recently announced the winners of
it's Instrument & Equipment Awards. The Awards, set up from £2.7m
generated over the Fame Academy Series, are designed to develop new
musical talent, giving away over 500 instrument grants worth up to
£1,200 each over 3 years to young people between the ages of 11-15.

He has been invited, for the third time, to play with the Banda
Municipal de Musica de Santa Cruz de Tenerife next Easter. His
performances will include a jazz ballad composed by his father and
played on his flugelhorn.
LSO Brass Academy/bigger>/bigger>
Chosen from brass players (aged 14-23), across the UK he was the
youngest to take part in a week of masterclasses, ensemble playing and
concerts with the principle brass players of the London Symphony
Orchestra as part of their Discovery Project.

players from the whole of the UK. Most people were music college
students"

ATCL Recital Performance Diploma/bigger>
/bigger>A week after attending the LSO Brass Academy Course Lucian
gained his Performance Diploma from the Trinity College of Music.

TRUMPET CONCERTO
/bigger>/bigger>Lucian's father, composer Keith Amos, is currently
writing a Trumpet Concerto for symphony orchestra which Lucian hopes to
premiere in the near future.

Lucian is currently a specialist musician
at Wells Cathedral School but will be moving to Chethams School of Music
in Manchester next September for his sixth form.

accompanies Lucian as a pianist and conductor

/bigger>/bigger>/bigger>They share the common interest of big bands,
notably Stan Kenton and Woody Herman and have had the privilege of
meeting some of these world class musicians.
One of Keith's most successful composition is
The Steadfast Tin Soldier for Narrator & Symphony Orchestra which has
been hailed as a natural successor to Peter & the Wolf.
Premiered by Richard Baker with the BBC Philharmonic.
Hans Andersen's bi-centenary in 2005 will be celebrated globally. A
number of performances of this work are already booked for next year.
