Mercury Prize nominee Guy Barker is a renowned trumpeter who has worked with Sting, George Michael and Quincy Jones. Guy won the British Jazz Award for Best Trumpeter in 1996.

Performing alongside these famous names will be the Kinder Children’s Choir and St Helens Youth Brass Band. Both have a national and international profile, with successes in major

competitions, and have showcased in some of Britain’s most prestigious concert venues as well as on TV.

The Children’s Society’s Safe in the City, Manchester Project. Running away from home or care can put children and young people at risk. Children from all around the North West head for the big city, many of whom leave home due to family conflict, violence or abuse. Each day alone, around 50 children under the age of 11 run away from home for the first time. One quarter of runaways sleep in unsafe places such as back alleys, public parks, and bus shelters, putting themselves at serious risk of harm.
