SONAR Brass appear at Cottenham

SONAR Brass, one of the most famous brass quintets in the world, is to visit Cottenham Village College on Friday 21st May to give a concert, commencing at 7.30pm. Earlier in the day, the five musicians will be staging workshops and masterclasses for young musicians in the area. These will commence at 1.30pm and conclude at 5.30pm and places can be booked - as well as concert tickets - by telephoning 01223 234090. Both events are supported by South Cambridgeshire District Council.

 

SONAR Brass broadcasts regularly for BBC Radio 2 on programmes such as Friday Night is Music Night and Listen to the Band and has performed in some this country’s finest concert halls.

 

SONAR Brass is made up of five of the finest brass players in North of England and comprises of two cornets - Alan Morrison of Brighouse & Rastrick Band and Murray Greig of Opera North, Horn - Owen Farr of Williams Fairey Band, Nick Hudson - free-lance trombonist and Tuba virtuoso - Shaun Crowther of Grimethorpe Colliery Band. Murray Greig is deputising for Richard Marshall who had a prior engagement.
