Leyland announce new principal

Lucien ReyLeyland Band has confirmed the appointment of Lucien Rey as the band’s new principal cornet. Hailing from Switzerland, Lucien lives in Manchester where he studies Finance at the Manchester Business School, and moves to the end chair from his previous position on Repiano.

Commenting on his appointment, Lucien spoke of his gratitude of being given the opportunity and said: “Since joining Leyland in 2010 I have had nothing but support. They are such a professional and friendly organisation and it is a real honour to be appointed as the band’s new principal cornet. I look forward to what promises to be a very exciting future, beginning with the Area next month.”

The band had been seeking a permanent replacement following the departure of Iain Culross in December and Huw spoke of his delight at being able to find the perfect candidate from within the band adding: “I am delighted that Lucien has accepted the position of Principal Cornet with Leyland. He has been an excellent servant to the band on Repiano and now is the time for him to make his name as one of the finest cornet playing talents in the UK.”

Lucien will make his debut for the band at their Valentines themed concert on February 16th at Chorley Town Hall.
